Yes you can have one integrated system using an Asterisk based solution. I would appreciate any advice / recommendations any of you have to offer. I should also mention that we're doing ISP research at Site 1 since the contract is up in February, so if we are going VOIP, I need to make sure to get the right service when we switch ISPs (i.e. I think the only real issue here is that we would have to buy all new phones and do a bunch of extra ethernet cabling for the phones themselves (either that or get phones that have a computer jack and a LAN jack - must be gigabit).Ĭould I setup an Elastix server at no cost to the company except for the hardware that runs it, get the new phones pretty affordably, and begin the quest to make my dream reality? Let's also throw in the $2400 per year we pay the phone hardware vendor for tech support and hardware maintenance, so that would be money toward new equipment. Though the current system has been rock solid, I want to move everything to VOIP. I personally think it is not a great idea to pour more money into the IP Office 406 because it is about 5 years old at this point. My dream is to have one unified phone system (either in the cloud or stationed at Site 1) that covers every site to take away the pain of managing separate phone systems for each site and to make extension to extension dialing to different sites much easier. I believe this is possible through the use of some extra hardware for our phone system and some additional licensing from Avaya. The owner is asking if there is a way for site 4 to be a part of the same system as site 1 and how easy / costly it would be to do.

Site 2: Digium Switchvox (mid grade model), using SIP from CBeyond Site 1: IP Office 406 (All digital), using a PRI from XO We have 4 sites and a separate phone system for each site along with a different ISP. I have a dream, but let's start with reality to determine how my dream can come true.
